Between insanity with work and school I've barely had time for woodworking but I did finish up all the short pieces I had going, just in time for SwordFest.
The zebrawood tanto is really my favorite. There's so much going on, with the interplay of the two regions of wood, with the insect trails . . . and it's a nice size: beefy, but not oversize in the hand.
It takes a couple of weeks of handling before I know I'm done. Until then, I pick up the piece and I know things don't feel right—my hands feel antsy. So I keep shaving and sanding until I hold the piece and my hands are quiet.
