I just finished a few mokusen of stouter, and in some cases longer, dimensions. These are all jatoba, before oiling.
The top two are 10cm longer than the usual mokusen, and the bottom one is 5cm longer. They also rocker out at the center, making them quite a bit heavier in hand. I rather like these better than the straight-sided ones, though preference seems to vary.
We've got six tessen (including one that should be interesting for the large pitch pocket, which will be filled with clear epoxy), one tanto, and the sharp business end of a naginata, made to show most of the relevant details without the hassle of schlepping the entire thing.
Well, the fans were nine, with two sold, two spoken for, another slated as a gift . . . then I posted the picture on my Facebook, and in short order I had relieved myself of two more.
